he is what he is. as a team, we go as gbinije goes and in some games he just isn't there. missing layups, bad turnovers, we will go as far as he can take us. today was bad gbinije. hopefully more good then bad the rest of the way. and for the love of god, don't read me his statsheet, he was bad today.

But how can a player at this level miss 3 lay ups?

His truly the most enigmatic player I can recall at SU.

For example, his free throws. How can you shoot 40 percent from 3 and crap the bed from the line?

And his form looks just fine. When he makes em, they go through the nets like water..then the next one hell hit off the very front and side of the rim. weirdest thing of all time

Now this I agree with. Good post. He was bad. I was especially floored at how bad our perimeter D was.

His form isn't always great on the FT's. Sometimes he rushes them and shoots before he is really set.

The entire team mentally checked out.
Except Cooney, who got no help. Cooney is a supplemental player who can spark a run or spike an opponent's rally, but he isn't/shouldn't have to be the one who carries the team. If G and Mal aren't making shots consistently, with strong support from Lydon and Robo, we'll keep coming up short. Anything from DC is gravy, and Frank is an enabler, but those nice assists don't count if you muff the layups.-VBOF

His missed fts at end of 1st half completely changed the game. Had a chance to go up 6 with a minute left, instead he misses both, lville scores the last 5 of the half and it was goodnite irene from there.

Definitely a huge moment - that was a pretty easy conversion though. He seems overly concerned with the monster dunk at the moment.

TC was good on offense, did his best, but I thought his defense was pretty atrocious for the first time since Hopkins was coaching.

I thought he and G also took some iffy shots to open the second half - didn't help with momentum. Overall though, he was the least of our problems tonight.

Hated his contested layup attempt when Roberson was unguarded under the hoop. And it didn't bite us, but I don't know what he was thinking saving that ball under Louisville's basket - good thing Lydon was able to corral that one. Gbinije's been excellent on the whole for over a month, but he's always seemed to have poor spatial awareness.

Maybe it didn't matter, since we didn't get production that we rely on from the freshmen, but that wasn't the sort of game you'd like to see from fifth-year senior guards. Really poor shot selection contributed to Louisville's second-half run, perimeter defense in the half-court was uninspired, and both were guilty of failing to rotate back in transition.

Just one game, nothing much to take away from this one.

He was physically exhausted, but mentally careless like the rest. Poor decision-making with the ball and difficulty getting back on defense.
