Well, if you had told me prior to the season that Syracuse would beat Georgetown by six goals, you probably could have knocked me over with a feather. If you had said we'd still be upset by that outcome, I'm not sure what's lighter than a feather, but that would do the knocking over. I know this isn't the Georgetown team we thought it would be, but it's still a great result with lots of positives. Easy to focus on the negatives, but still there was a lot to like. Offense looks incredibly varied with lots of different pieces that can break down a defense. They have shifty quick players, they have brute strength, they outside shooting, they have inside finishers, they have dodgers, they have good passers. I'm not saying they are perfect by any stretch, but the pieces are there right now. This offense really looks like it's cooking. I know Coach Odierna likes the defense to play with an edge to it, and he's said things in the past (not a direct quote), but essentially, he'd rather have his team be over aggressive than under. I think that works most of the time, as the defense I think has really intimated a number of opponents the last few years, but there obviously needs to be a line they cannot cross. The Chuck K hit was really bad. All I can is I hope it's a teaching moment and it doesn't happen again. Defense I thought was pretty good yesterday overall, though they did get caught ball watching a number of times. Luckily McCool was there to bail them out. He's been really good this season and hopefully he gets the credit he deserves when all is said and done. Hopefully a performance like this is one the team can learn from, and take the positives into the next game. Go 'Cuse.
