The streak is a very compelling reason to consider him, because Boeheim's streak is arguably his most unassailable career accomplishment. 19 straight good seasons is not a coincidence. Boeheim's problem is that he's abandoning, one by one, his very own, once-adamant, coaching styles, philosophies, and strategies.

Anderson would have to be a great recruiter, though. Top players are needed for best results, regardless of coach's game plan, even Ted Lasso's Smiley Face arrangement.

Georgetown sucks and the BigEast refs gave then that game so that the BigEast would get a few more percent in conference power ranking which could help them get another team in the NCAAT. Their crooked.

Lawsuit alleges St. John's basketball coach Mike Anderson fired assistant Steve DeMeo for health issues

Guess they had their issues regarding the transition from Mullin to Anderson after his 2nd year there. 8 players entered the transfer portal last season - 2 during the season and 6 afterwards. Huge exodus last year considering it was with these players that he won the Big East Coach of the year and a 10-9 conference record which was tied for 4th. They are currently playing with 6 players who transferred in. He’s doing well with them considering only 3 players returned to St John’s after his 2nd year there. He’s a good, demanding coach but he went to St John’s from Arkansas where in his 8 seasons there he made the NCAA’s 3 times, NIT twice and no post season 3 years. Would SU fans accept that here?

There’s something going on with Georgetown. In their last game it was mentioned by the broadcaster that Patrick Ewing wouldn’t be coaching (he isn’t today either) after going ballistic after their Marquette game blasting his players saying he was embarrassed by their play etc. The broadcaster laughed and said he’d never seen Ewing so mad and the other commentator said, have you seen any other coaches that mad? He hasn’t coached them since with a non Covid issue. Later, Fran Fraschilla, Seth Greenberg noted that the team was probably better off with the calmer, experienced Louie Orr for now.

Dunno but we’re accepting also ran status now. Be honest. Take away the fluke double digit seed runs. Look at our style of play now compared to what it was. We simply don’t have the players to play an appealing, entertaining style. But hey I enjoyed being in New Orleans in 2003 too

They beat mighty Colgate by 18. They have 10 guys playing at least 10 minutes per game. Imagine.

Including everything, we’ve obviously slipped enormously as a program.
