First about our “interest”.   1/2 dozen friends who are not Cuse fans texted me the other day.   I have not talked about Gerry to them in years, if at all.  Yet they were following the game (everybody wants to see Duke lose) and knew he was a Cuse guy and were impressed.  I’m sure administrations all over the country took note and if Cuse does not hire him, that game and his 2 year record will get him a better job.

Also, they went from 4 wins to 23 wins, winning the championship in 2 years.   Your downplaying his regular season “third place finish” despite this accomplishment, is the definition of gaslighting.

2 things are not debatable.  He took lesser athletes and talent and taught them help defense.  Something we had no clue about.  The non stop layup drill teams had vs. us lost us several winnable games.  Also they did not win the MAAC regular season because they did not shoot like yesterday all year, but clearly they were able to get open looks at the line that we struggled to get vs most good teams.

Favoring a guy who went from 4 wins to 23 in 2 years, and displaying excellent offensive and defensive principles, and being a Cuse guy, is a pretty good combo in my book.  But there are no guarantees.
