Justin Pugh got his first snaps of training camp with the first team at right tackle.
 
The first-round pick from Syracuse split reps with David Diehl and also manned the RT spot with the second team.
 
Pugh looked the part, stopping DE Mathias Kiwanuka on a pass rush and sealing off S Antrel Rolle with a block that sprung RB David Wilson for a long gain.
 
“We’d like to be able to do that,” coach Tom Coughlin said when asked about Pugh’s first-team reps.
 
“Basically, the first couple of groups are being interchanged every once and awhile, so you’ll see that.” -

Nice one for Nassib
 
Fourth-round QB Ryan Nassib opened eyes during practice, especially with the way he threw the deep ball.
 
He found Kevin Hardy for an over-the-shoulder catch along the sideline with a perfect 40-yard throw in 11-on-11s; then he connected with Hardy again on a similar route during 7-on-7s.
 
“He’s got a strong arm,” Coughlin said of Nassib, who conveniently had his best performance of the summer inside the field house after playing his home games indoors at Syracuse in the Carrier Dome.
