Understand your viewpoint, but I just think a single digit jersey shouldn't be that big a deal. It's available, if a starter wants to wear it, why not?

Beats me. Recently I guess. No sillier than doggy bone or buckeye stickers on a helmet, but just not a big deal for me. Wax and Thompson have single digits so not exactly an upperclassmen thing either.
