Could it be that Glanton has to wait until we know what TW is doing? If Morgan is in, and JPO has a ship saved, then we are down to one last spot. If we genuinely are waiting to hear from Whitehurst, perhaps JG's uncertainty is just a lack of a firm offer??

You're not way off at all. Glanton may be conditional to Whitehurst's commit. It's still not certain JG wants to de-commit from FIU, but when Owens de-commited, another LB scholly opened up. And that was before the JPO visit. If Morgan commits, there should be at least one more 'ship available. Unfortunately, we'll need to wait on MSU or RU this weekend or beyond, so one should be waiting in reserve.
