I know this has been discussed on here a little, but I wanted to share my take. It's still baffling to me that ESPN is getting away with some of this stuff.

There are two questions here, whether these crimes occurred and whether (regardless) various organizations and people handled themselves appropriately (7-8 yrs ago and today).

As for ESPN and today, the verdict is clearly in.

ESPN certainly seems to be more interested in creating the story instead of reporting the story lately. And not just in regards to Bernie Fine.

Exactly. We should be after the truth (regardless of what the truth is). And ESPN is not reporting all facts. They are only reporting partial facts and partial statements. It's just not right.

Part of me thinks we should just stop discussing the Fine issue on this board...stop gving it the dignity of a legitimate news story.

I partially agree. But I think ignoring the poor journalism and poor job overall ESPN is doing is enabling part of the problem. If we continue to call them out for what they're doing (not just us but other media outlets, the public, etc), maybe they'll feel enough pressure to stop this. Probably wishful thinking on my part lol
