This is true, especially with Don Bosco. The situation at Rutgers with Gary Nova is the perfect example. The only reason that kid is still playing is because he went to Bosco. But, as somebody else stated previously, there is a lot of undeveloped talent all around the state outside of the football power schools. Victor Cruz went to Paterson Catholic. That school doesn't even exist anymore. UCLA has a sophomore WR Devin Fuller who went to Old Tappan, hardly a football powerhouse (Actually his younger brother is playing now, maybe we should jump in on his recruitment since he already got an offer from Rutgers and UCLA). I know Dwight Morrow has a couple good kids this year as well. You don't have to be ingrained in the Bergen County Catholic powers. Actually, probably the best way to do it is go into the lower income areas because that is where the undeveloped talent is. Englewood (Dwight Morrow), Hackensack, Paterson, always have really good players that just aren't developed yet because of poor coaching. And that is just in this area that I know of. There are plenty of really REALLY good players that didn't go to Bergen, Bosco, or Joes. Yes I've seen that a couple times. I believe that was 01 or 02? Right before I enrolled there in 03. Sandberg was a legend there back then. Cushing kind of took his spot a bit though.
