I'm not sure that it will be easy to put the genie back in the bottle once the full data comes to light in that regard.  I agree 100% with you that Carolina feels that this is no big deal, and that the NCAA would prefer to ignore it.  But I don't believe that an informed sports media will allow that to happen.  Not after they forcibly "encouraged" the NCAA to get re-involved after their first cursory examination was determined to be grossly insufficient.
