Some additional factors that come into play here are that Hughes probably graduates, so he could be done with school and may not want to pursue another degree. Teams also look at the years that they will control a player. Teams will look at Hughes and think that he might be 3-4 years older at the end of his second contract than someone they grab after their freshman season.
