Nope, Billy Edelin's rec league game at the Y. They play every Monday in the Spring, everyone know this.

Meanwhile, I'm schlepping to get to a measly 100 likes and bees rolls up with (in all honesty an inexplicable) beat down and grabs up all the likes this thread was likely garner. Dang it!!
 
...his comments were positive for 'Cuse...very good turnover team that leads to points...defensive length very good...likes scoring off the bench...good on tape; so much better in person...really good...going to be there on Monday night in April

Pass whatever you were and are drinking around...NCSTATE coach as was their fans were relatively classy throughout the night...and I was in the middle of their fans 6 rows up from court (friends have had season tickets for 23 years) and not one looked at me as i rooted for 'Cuse!!!

Yeah, I guessed way wrong on the crowd. Not at all what I expected, I thought we'd see Bernie Fine signs and references all night.

Gottfried was really nice saying what he did ... he is going to turn that NC State situation around. He has good kids playing their hearts out this year (too bad their fans suck) and will be so much better next year. Good luck.

And the Noah's Ark line was my favorite as well
 
I think the NC State job is a terrible job in that conference that is getting worse with SU and Pitt coming. That is a bottom tier ACC school that won't see the light of day for a very long time.

They almost lost to North Carolina Central last week at home. Nuff said.

I think any job at a school who a.) has a dumb and impatient fanbase, and b.) has superior regional rivals to whom it is constantly compared (and against whom it must compete for recruits) is a tough one.

Not sure if that's an entirely accurate assessment of State, but parts of it ring true.

Gottfried coached a very good game last night, though, and has good talent. Wouldn't shock me if they go 11-5 in league and make it to the second NCAA weekend this season.

The only way for NC State to compete is to hire a guy like Calapari and cheat like crazy...and hope they start winning before the NCAA starts sniffing around. It wouldn't matter if their fan base was comprised of nothing but patient rocket scientists, Duke and UNC have shot so far past them there's no way for State to catch up.
 
Gottfried is a solid coach and will do very well at State. Their fan base is very excited about the future with him at the helm. It would have been interesting to see what yesterday's final outcome would have been if Leslie hadn't gone down to dehydration in the second half. It was a critical blow to State's chances, and really changed the game after State made their run and when it see sawed there for a while...
 
Besides Gottfried's complimentary post game remarks about SU, he also was quoted in yesterday's Charlotte Observer for a few niceties as well...some are as follows..."Sometimes coaches end up with a playbook of a thousand plays, every time we see something on TV, we want to put it in - let's do that, let's do that, let's add this." "Boeheim has been great because he's been simple...Jim's learned that this is what we do, and they get really good at what they do. He doesn't have to re-invent an offense." "Their length in the zone is really hard to work around, they convert turnovers into points about as fast as anyone you'll find."
