That last shot attempt by Boise is NOT a foul in reality nor is it usually called a foul in college. Yes it is called a foul in the NBA.

I agree that Gottlieb is an idiot, but I happen to agree with what he said. Usually it is called a foul if the defender jumps in the air and the shooter initiates contact. I am not saying it is a foul but it is called quite often.

He is wrong.. but i think its coming from his disgust of dayton playing at home which i agree. And now as the 11 seed they play close to home again in columbus.

That was a foul. There were a bunch of other late non calls that were sided towards Dayton as well.

After seeing the replay a few times, I don't think it was a foul because the defender landed back from where he jumped. The shooter jumped into him.

I was happy not to have seen him much at all this year.

I'm sure CBS pays better but he's way less visible now

I don't think this was a foul, but I think Gottlieb has gotten more tolerable over time. I did appreciate him repeatedly saying that it was unfair for Dayton to have home court last night. The selection commitee seems to think that its ok and that they agreed on this decision if it ever occurred a few years ago, but its just not right to reward the LAST team in the field with a home game. I loved Tirico's idea of just moving the Boise/Dayton game to Columbus since it was the site for the next round and the winner would just stay there regardless. Surprised nobody mentioned this idea on Sunday when the bracket was first revealed.

They should do that for all the play in games. Play at the pod site of the next opponent.

He was right in this case. It shouldn't be a foul, but it's always called that way in college.

Exactly, cuz it's not like their can be a scheduling conflict since the other teams are already practicing there.

The defender jumped forward towards the shooter that is called a foul 99 times out of 100. The refs sure seemed to be influenced by the home crowd down the stretch.

Gottlieb knows his stuff. He has as much knowledge of all the NCAA teams as any NCAA analyst (I would put him with Bilas in this regard, Bilas being the better and more likable communicator) .

He can be accused of pushing a take or short-term agenda however, and since he has so much information on hand, he can slant thing s his wat

Last night he was pissed about Dayton playing a home game and it impacted his analysis

stop talking about gottlieb and davis and doyle. stop feeding the machine. some of you aren't so bright yourselves.

Someone ask Gottlieb about Eddie Sutton at OSU and Kenntucky

This is what I think is wrong. It is just an unfortunate coincidence that Dayton got to play on there home court in the first four match-up. Felt bad for Boise St. Not much the NCAA could do. However, to place them as an 11 seed against Providence in Columbus is a joke.

If you're on Twitter, join in the fun with the #TrollGottlieb hashtag. I'm tweeting out some stuff from Otto's Grove, all good natured, in good fun stuff. But it's enjoyable to get through the games.

Didn't realize that Doug Gottleb's brother, Gregg, is now an assistant at Oregon St with Stevie Thompson under Wayne Tinkle. Interesting...
