Gottlieb says take him at his word that he knew nothing. He made these statements, but I think he keeps his job. I think where this hurts Syracuse is the future, specifically Mike Hopkins' future. This doesn't take away from his success on the floor, his success of his work with coaches v cancer. But it does hurt his power within the university when he walks away. Previously, Boeheim was strong enough to hand pick Hopkins as his successor. I'm guessing here that when Boeheim retires, whether it be this year or 5 years from now, I do think that this speeds up that process unfortunately. Even if he did not know anything, I think this hurts his ability to choose who will be the next Head Coach at Syracuse. Which totally changes the future of this program and maybe Hopkins doesn't get the job.

Katz went on to agree. There is a new administration which can always be a factor with future hires. Does not know if Hopkins has a written contract signed, or if it's just a verbal agreement. But he does think that Hop could be in jeopardy.
