Grantland Live March Madness

I got you covered. I just dropped that on the Facebook page and Simmons, in turn, just totally name dropped me on the broadcast.
haha, caught that. I think it was the first mention of an actual game all day.

Rembert seems likable enough, but he definitely comes across as a guy who's trying too hard.

You know, like the kind of guy who would wear an ironic tux with a fraternity hat on grantland live.

that is exactly what i think of him actually. talented tho.

That's a drive by name drop right there. And a pretty low level name drop at that.

ha fair enough.

he is a good friend's best friend. so i dont even know him that well. :)

Never been a Jalen Rose fan, but he's riveting.

House, on the other hand, is an even more obsequious Marylander than Simmons makes him out to be.

Pretty good watch, though; worth having the audio on with the games on mute.

FYI, this is back up and running now. Today they've added another person, Cousin Sal.

I've found this live roundtable absolutely fascinating so far. Jalen needs his own show stat.

Outside of the 30 for 30s, this has been better than anything ESPN has aired in a while.

Someone on Sportsguy's Facebook page posed the question of if they remade Space Jam, who would star and who would the Monstars steal their basketball powers from?

LeBron is obviously the star. I also think the Monstars would pick from the following list (a combination of goofy players/personalities and real stars, just like the real version of the movie): Kevin Love, Dirk, Carmelo, Blake Griffin, James Harden, Dwight Howard, and then throw in a random guy like Roy Hibbert or Joakim Noah. And I also think that Charlie Day (or maybe Rainn Wilson) would play the Wayne Knight role, and Will Ferrell would play the Bill Murray role (unless, you know, Bill Murray wanted to play the Bill Murray role).

Ironically, when LeBron gets sucked into Looney Tunes land he'd be playing golf with Michael Jordan, like MJ played with Larry Bird in the original.

I'm going have to find Sal's "I Love Gambling" t-shirt.

I'm now 2-for-2 in getting a shout out from Bill Simmons on this thing. Booyah!

Simmons would want a chemistry guy like Dudley or Deandre Jordan in there.
