Why is backup QB always what tanks this program? Our good seasons the last decade or so have been when the QB1 stayed healthy the full year (2012/2024) and when we had a competent QB2 (2018 Tommy Devito). Zach Mahoney had some solid games and I think Chance Amie would’ve been good had he stayed, but it’s infuriating that we never seem to have the right pieces for when the inevitable occurs. It’s only getting harder to have competent backups in the NIL portal era, but what we had in our QB cupboard can never happen again. Complete failure of talent evaluation and development all around
