Great assist distribution today

Boeheim used to do the same thing Paul Harris's freshman year, when Harris began to jack of threes. At some point, every time he took a three, Boeheim pulled him, and would "coach" him on the bench not to do it anymore. Next game, Harris would do the same thing--same result. Until it finally sunk in that he didn't have the green light to shoot threes; I think it took about 80% of the season for that to sink in for Harris.

People can disagree with JB giving him the hook, but if it is something that Howard is being coached not to do, and he still does it, then pulling the player is an appropriate coaching tactic for the reason Fly Rodder specifies above. And for the record, I'm not comparing Howard to Harris--by all accounts, Howard is exponentially more coachable.

I love the instant teaching moment - it's a great learning tool. I just wish it wouldn't stick for such long stretches of games with Howard.
