Great news about Pugh, if true

Would be nice to get Pugh back for NW and have Raymon cleared, we need depth in a bad way at line and tackle.

I'd be very pleasantly surprised if Pugh was available for NW. I'd be giddy in fact. But I am expecting the worst and hoping for the best. Gut feel is Pugh and Flemming wont be available for NW and maybe not Bromley either. Hope all 3 are and my gut feeling is way off.

If Pugh isn't able to physically go for NW, then I'd just as soon see the coaching staff take it slow and keep him out until Minnesota.

That's what I said when it was found out it was a long term injury. No need to risk him vs USC or Stonybrook.

Spot on.

If he doesn't even see the doctor until next week even if he gets the go ahead I can't imagine him being ready to go for NW. He hasn't even practiced in pads yet and they would throw him in there game week? I'd love to have him back, but with how conservative we tend to be in these situations I can't fathom them letting him go vs NW if he doesn't get cleared until next week. Imagine him being a little rusty and a quick DE puts speed move on him and he reaches awkwardly jamming it into the player trying to stop him or worse yet falling on it awkwardly trying to brace himself and reagravating it. I know this could happen anytime, but without preseason reps he'd be in a tough situation.

On the other hand if he got cleared this week I'd be much more optimistic because he could at least get a couple practices under his belt then have a week to get assimilated (same for RT position if Hickey goes over there). I'm not in sports medicine by any means but I wonder why they couldn't have at least moved his appt up a couple days to a week instead of during our first game week. I'm guessing it has something to do with strict rules as far as time between appt/evaluations but too bad if he is actually healthy and ready to go (as he has mentioned) that he can't get seen this week and cleared.

Would be bad if Bromley wasn't back for NW. What are you hearing?

I rather him play against SB than have his first action be against Minny. IMO you want as little disruption on the OL as possible during a game week. So ideally if Pugh were to come back the best time to do so would be SB week or the bye week. Having to slide Hickey to RT and have Pugh get his game legs for Minny could cause the line to have issues.

I'd play Pugh againt Stonybrook to so he can get a game under his belt before Minny.

I don't see Flemming playing against NW and I have my reservations about Bromley.

If he is 100%. If it is one of those deals where he is not 100% but can give it a go, I'd rather he'd take the extra 2 weeks.

Yes definitely, only at 100%
