Great news!!! Alec Lemon to the Ravens

Good for him. But he's just on the PS. HE still has work to do, gotta make the 53 man roster.

Great for Alec, all the best! I always thought he would end up sticking around the league for awhile. Really hope he does.

Really? Bet you are a ton of fun at parties.

All I'm saying is he hasn't made it yet. The PS guys make like 30k a year. That's not a lot of money to survive on. It's a big first step, and important because I didn't think he would get another chance, but he hasn't captured the dream yet.

Quick Google says they make minimum $6K per week. More than enough to live on.

I look at it this way: it gives him an inside track to the full roster versus someone on the free agency listing.

If he works 5 weeks he gets 30K because they make 6k a week.

Great to see Lemon is still getting work in the league. Not easy to do.

But this was the work of Doug Marrone. The Bills signed WR Deonte Thompson off the Ravens practice squad this week, which opened up a spot for Lemon.

Obviously, Saint Doug was looking out for his former player, which true saints often do.

yea way off base here PS guys can make like 120,000 a year if they stick or so...

for the whole season.

Its actually $6300 a week, including weeks in the playoffs. Best of luck to the kid.

ah... didnt realize kubiak is the common denominator here.

Obviously he sees something in Alec.

I have no idea how I'd survive on a mere 6K per week! ;)

Good for Alec. He seems like a really good guy and was a solid player for 4 years. I hope he ends up sticking.

that is quite the defeatest attitude.

1st of all...hes 'made it'. maybe not by your standards and by his goals, but hes made it.

2nd, how much $$ you make isnt a determining factor.

if you are on the practice squad...youre an NFL player.

3rd, to get added now just shows that hes in the loop of guys that are out there still working hard to keep their dream alive...quite an accomplishment at that.

4th, he will likely get a camp invite and will likely be 'employed' all off season now.

plus, i know the Giants practice squad guys travel and they all got a ring and playoff shares.

pretty damn good gig.

Signed to their practice squad. Very happy for Alec, Sean and Ellen and the entire family. How great to be on the hometown team!!
So happy for Alec - one of my favorites.

Great post. Agree 100% -- he's "made it," even if the remainder of his career is as a journeyman. There are lots of very good college player--some of whom are even all american caliber--who never get to the bigs. Kudos to Lemon for keeping the dream alive. Hope he can continue to make money playing a game for as long as he can.

Depending on the agenda he's already made the NFL in the eyes of some.
