They held a lot but locked us down and devito didn’t see anyone open. Not saying they weren’t but he had so much pressure. We shoulda went man and not let so many guys open. They can play with Clemson and Alabama easily. Strangely our pass defense sucked and our run defense was great lol. Wooda thought.

When they have an “extra blitzer” someone must be open. Or you adjust.

Johnson’s drop in the end zone was brutal and Harris coughing up the ball was the killer blow.

And once they knew we had to pass, their d line owned our oline.

Conversely, I thought our D played quite well but ultimately crumbled.

I disagree that they are not that good, not sure about Bama but I think they can hang with Clemson.

I think we would have had fewer 3-and-outs and a closer game if Dungey hadn’t gotten hurt. But ironically, one of Greg Robinson’s few wins was over Notre Dame, at South Bend:

I didn’t jump off the bandwagon. Search posts where I predicted a loss.

But when you spend time in a corporate suite with brand like Nike, you see how today’s performance erases some of the growing intangibles our 2018 success has...when the national stage fright performs the way we did.

A loss is one thing. Looking like GRob at Iowa on O is a painful other thing that is driving me nuts.

Let’s not just be happy we don’t suck. Let’s apply a higher expectation on performances that made us 8-2. A loss was expected. A mutulation and lack of competition was not. That’s what this entire post’s ethos consists of.
