Not happy with what we have?
Hedging against attrition?
We were low to begin with?
Changing defense, so we need more?
A combination?

We lost 6 scholarship athletes in the secondary from last season:
Cordell Hudson
Rodney Williams
Daivon Ellison
Juwan Dowels
Devin Butler
Jordan Martin

You can never have enough secondary talent, given the direction of collegiate offensive football schemes.

Man, it is easy to get excited about the breakdown posted above, junior class down. We really have a lot of exciting pieces of the puzzle, and will have year-over-year continuity heading into next season. Competition in the secondary is going to be unbelievably fierce these next two years. As it should be.

We're in the same boat on the dline this year.
Slayton this year.
Next year Bear, Coleman, Berry, Robinson, Pickard, Ruff, and Grovsenor.
I'd expect to see a minimum of 2 dts and 2 des this cycle. And I stress minimum.

The whole roster looks like this to that's why it's easy to point to 2019 as 'the year' to really see results.

rough count excluding walkons
24 juniors
17 sophomores
11 redshirt freshman
17 true freshman

We are building db depth and the talent is improving. The dline has won the depth race. Love, love our dline, think its top 4 in the ACC. Slayton to the show next year but we have athletes ready. The dbs are a year away although i like our corners. These corners, esp. Frederick were solid last year in ball skills.
