Digger just picked UConn for the upset because "Syracuse can't shoot the ball". He called out Waiters, Triche and Scoop specifically. He didn't say UConn was 'on a mission', but you could tell he was thinking it.

It really amazes me the lack of credit that Kemba gets for that run last year. That was all him. Whatever his teammates did was because he put them in a position to make things happen.

They're not pulling that off this year because Kemba isn't there.

Digger seems like he's been convinced for weeks that they're gonna do it again.

I can't really blame Digger for picking UConn for 3 simple reasons:

1. It is very difficult to beat the same team 3 times in a season.
2. UConn has a lot of talented players.
3. Their coach is not named Richard Phelps.

I would rather be playing anybody besides UConn and was leary of this game as soon as I saw the bracket. If we play the way we did against Louisville though it'll be a blowout.

I don't know how close they are. Digger goes out of his way to say negative things about Syracuse. I would bet that jb doesn't put him up to it as you suggest. I think there is something else going on.

Absolutely agree with this statement. When you have a guy who was as dominant on dribble penetration as Walker was last year, every other guy has only to perform routine tasks to be successful. If you can dunk you can score 10+ per game (all their big guys)... If you can shoot wide open threes, you can make four a game (Lamb). If you only have to dribble once in a while, suspect handle isn't such a problem (Napier). Every player on that team looks much worse without Kemba Walker to draw all the defensive pressure and double teams.

How many times has Duke/UNC beat teams 3 times in the days of the 9 team ACC days? I would say dozens.

We hit 40.3% in the last Connecticut game. We hit 42.2% vs. Lousiville in our last game.

McDonough: USF didn't lose back to back games in the Big East this season. The only other team that did not lose 2 games in a row in conference this year is Syracuse, obviously, who lost only once this year.

He loved the 2004 and 2005 teams. He used to get on our bandwagon before anyone else.

Say what you will about Digger, he's got a good point. As long as Thad Matta is our starting center, this team has some glaring weaknesses.

Syracuse can't shoot, yet are higher on the list in every measurable shooting statistic. #1 in the conference in FG% and adjusted FG%, much better in FT%, much better in 3PT% and Adj 3PT%.

Only one team playing in this game "can't shoot"
