I know the phrase is cheesy, but it's very true. Why don't our players close out on shooters with their arms up instead of waiting until they get there to throw the arm up? It's too late at that point. Cooney does this all the time. On the one pressure zone play we had that resulted in a way easy dunk, Lydon did the same thing. Pass went right over his head before he could get his arms up. It's so easy to move and get one arm up at the same time instead of just waiting until you get there.
And while I'm on a roll, why does Cooney back off after a guy gives up his dribble, but will stand straight up and down in front of a guard who hasn't dribbled yet, which often leads to a drive right by him.
And what the heck was G thinking when he backed off that kid who then took a 3 right in his mug?
Such an odd game defensively.
