I know you're hurt and trying to play through the pain. Your efforts are appreciated.
Looks like Dino has given instructions to throw the ball away without hesitation. I would rather have that than have you reinjure those ribs.

Remember, you can't soar with eagles if you listen to the turkeys on fan boards.
Best wishes and get better soon.

A. It's not his ribs (I believe the person that said that).

B. He's not throwing it away. He's not throwing it at all. That's why his completion % is so high. And sacks are probably a bit higher than they need to be (it would still be bad, but you saw them decrease when the other guy came in).

I thought TD got drilled on his throwing shoulder and I hope it isn't serious.

Tommy’s got a lot of injuries right now. He basically look like he died with that helmet to helmet hit

Anybody want to ball park the percentage of sacks that are due to DeVito not letting it rip?

Really curious where people would put that.

He has been throwing it away hence the intentional grounding calls (which are not scored as sacks). He also had thrown many through the end zone and into the stands. Anybody who thinks he is worried about his stats doesn't know what this kid is all about. If he cared about
stats he wouldn't play when hurt.

I never said he was worried about his stats, so please don't group me in with them.

Your original post seems to be directed at the NC State game, not the Pitt game. I didn't see any grounding calls or a lot of throwing the ball away yesterday. I did see some drops, which were unfortunate and certainly not his fault.

He throws as nice a football as I can recall seeing at SU. But this year has taught me how much more goes into being a productive QB.

I just hope Tommy can bounce back from all of this. Sometimes you see QBs take such a beating that they never recover from (i.e. alter their style of play - not in a good way). I feel for Tommy & his parents. Its has to be tough on caretaker as to how this season is playing out.

Really referring to the season as a whole. Not directed at you.

I do feel bad the OL hasn’t helped. But the guy posting here said his son would have the same stats as Trevor Lawrence & Tua given the same supporting cast.

That is crazy talk.

I'm tired of "anointing" successors at SU. Whether it be basketball head coaches or starting qbs. Lets bring in multiple starting calibre qbs and let the best one win the job. Don't think TD is the answer this season or going forward. Frail/tentative running, as well as no pocket presence...

If Tommy had the OL of them and the WR They have I have no doubt he would have the same stats as them maybe better. I’ll die on that hill

I'm pretty sure they tried having a competition and Amie blew it.

I don’t see how you guys do it.

That is, how anyone can ascribe blame in this series of clusterfxcks we have enjoyed since Maryland.

There is soooo much wrong, it seems impossible to me to understand just which of the components aren’t working right.

How much of this is on the offensive line in both run and pass blocking, receivers who cannot catch, a golden-armed QB who doesn’t really understand how to play the position and isn’t learning, a coaching staff that is incapable of adjusting from what is clearly not working, penalties and more penalties, etc., etc. is beyond knowing.

Maybe of the OL were suddenly to become competent, the maybe the rest of the problems would disappear. But I doubt it.

I’m even liking townie posts today. What a long, strange trip it’s been

Maybe.

But let's just say for example that our line could run block effectively.

I think things would look a lot different. Even if the pass blocking didn't change.

Gotta love arguments base on the 'ol 'what if.' A 100% pure hypothetical that can never be proven to be a fact.

with a competent line he’s a 3000+ 30 td guy easily in this offense

Maybe not so crazy. He is better in %, INTs, TDs, and yardage. His rating is much lower, though. That could very well be attributed to his supporting cast compared to Lawrence's, could it not? Certainly, the statement is NOT crazy, though, as he already has better stats in almost all areas.

it’s really just OL and some minor growing pains that could otherwise be overcome

it’s like a team without rebounding or a team without good starting pitching or a soccer team without pace - makes everything look bad and compounds

I’d have to go back and look but I’m pretty sure you used this line when Shafer was the coach too.

Just some minor tweaks and we’d be undefeated right now. Every team thinks that. We are really bad right now, it starts with the historically bad OL but it doesn’t end with them.
