I dont know how to do that line crossing out thing and saying "fixed it for you", but if I did I would change "is still the greatest" to "was the greatest"(apparently someone is getting an early start on the bottle, or something else, today!!). I understand most Americans have little understanding of the rest of the world and certainly haven't lived there, but I think most who have studied history(even the last decade's worth) can see that we have lost many of the liberties we were born with, and our founding fathers sought to protect when they drafted the Constitution. Yes, censorship(the 1st Amendment) was obviously the one given the most respect, although in private arenas it is duly noted it can be p1$$ed upon, and routinely is. Instead of shooting off fireworks, skipping work, stuffing your already fat faces, and getting sh1tfaced, it might behoove Americans to instead actually emulate the true patriots that fought to give us liberty, rather than letting them slip away while we pleasure ourselves with drugs(alcohol, etc) like in Huxley's Brave New World, or with needless distractions like sports like in the Roman Empire, as noted beautifully in Gladiator. Seriously, do you think our founding fathers would enjoy your picnics and drunken debauchery in "their" honor while the Constitution is shat upon repeatedly, or would they see your attempts to speak up for it as more honorable, even if the forces of evil work to silence, ostracize, and punish you? I don't bet often, but I'll go with the latter. Even though this is on topic, it's not a feel good syracuse.com article, and makes important points, so after this morning I suppose I'd better check on it to make sure it doesnt receive the firing squad like many of my other posts. Sadly, many Americans fear actual liberty because it means taking responsibility. A few of you might recall that a good portion of Americans sided with the British during that war. Anyhow, happy "4th". ****ing Craig gets his own holiday? What's it about again? If youre offended, maybe it's for a reason. I sure as bleep don't write these posts for popularity. If I wanted that, I'd be another sheep/bot/clone and say the typical, meaningless, generic BS. The pen(keyboard) is mightier than the sword. True patriots arent necessarily killing brown skinned children with drones in the name of democracy(we have a republic, by the way), but actually are more concerned with the dissipating liberty in our own backyard.
