Happy Veterans Day

I wanted my first post of the season to be something meaningful, at least to myself. Let's not forget those who have served in the military, nor their families. Like myself, you don't have to support the last 30 or however many years sub-optimal foreign policy to support the men and women who were/are willing to risk life and limb to uphold their sworn oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Besides wishing the vets we know a happy Veterans Day, we can also do them a favor by making sure our politicians are held responsible for upholding their end of the bargain. Two vets a day taking their own lives is not acceptable, nor is the level of care received from the VA, in many instances. I'm keeping things non-partisan on my end, and hope in my own small way to maybe cause someone to think a little more than they otherwise might if I just remained quiet. To all the veterans on here, I salute you.


...on a somewhat related note, being I have mentioned things other than hoops in the past, has anyone set an over/under on me for this season? 690West, youre the betting expert, right?

I was being silly, mostly. Kind of an inside joke about how long before I get sent to Belize during the season. I'm guessing I wont, but if I learned one thing from Pete Rose it was not to be on yourself. I'm still curious if tee or anyone can set an over/under on that, similar to an Iggy category.

Terrible post. If you want to praise veterans, do it. Don't bring th other baggage and then turn the post around to be about yourself.
