Jayden Harberts was the top finisher in the women's 5,000-meter race on the course at Colgate University, crossing the line in 17:55.3 while Binghamton's Alice Rappazzo placed second. Carmen Luisi (18:15.7) finished third while Ella Masem was fifth to finish in 18:22.1. The Orange finished seventh through 11th and Beatriz Fernandes rounded out the field for 'Cuse in 19:28.0. Syracuse scored 24 points as a team to beat Colgate (47) and Binghamton (67) to start the season. Asher Danielson was the individual winner in the men's 6,000-meter race, crossing the finish in 18:56.3. He was followed by Sam Ricchiuti (18:56.5), Omar Alsaidi (18:59.3), Drew Zundell (19:00.7) and Eamon Burke (19:01.6) to round out the top-5. Connoll Alford and Ruben Rojas Betanzos placed sixth and seventh, respectively. Syracuse posted the best possible team score on the 6k course to begin the season, with 15 points. Colgate finished second as a team with 56 points while Binghamton was third with 69. The men extend their Harry Lang Invitational win streak to 10-straight years while the women win for the seventh time in the last nine races that Syracuse was entered in.[/I] [/QUOTE]
