Fuquan Edwin of SHU is quietly leading the country is steals with 3.0 per game.  He has to be considered.  Russ Smith of UL is averaging 2.4 spg (18th in the country) and Dion Waiters is averaging 2.3 spg (25th in the country).  From my perspective, Dion's defense tends to dominate games and is very noticeable, but I doubt he gets the  award.  Not enough steals and steals in general[URL='http://www.orangehoops.org/BigEast/BE_Defensive_Player.htm'] typically do not get the respect that blocks do in this category[/URL].  If Andy Rautins didn't get the award his senior season (he did not), I don't see Dion getting it.  But given the lack of premiere shot blockers in the conference this season, Edwin has a good chance, especially if he ends up leading the country in spg.
