I give the Chancellor, BoT a lot of credit for green lighting the IPF for the football team with the audit of the SU AD office ongoing. My question is without specifics as I don't want people getting into trouble do we know if the football program has been budgeted more money now that the annual revenue from TV money has gone from about 3 million dollars a year to about 18 million dollars a year. The bulk of that TV money comes from college football rights and I would think football's budget should be the recipient of that.

I hope somebody on here can shed some light on this. We will need to open the purse strings for a new coach on the coaching staff next year and unless we make it monetary incentivizing to come here for a coach on the hot seat I doubt they will come.

This seems to be the million dollar question, no pun intended! Can anyone with insight give a simple yay/nay?

Pure guesswork, based on these discussions in the past.

The BoT approved the IPF although the project wasn't "ready" from a fundraising standpoint. The model was that projects had to have a certain % of costs already raised from outside sources. I do not believe the IPF was anywhere near that benchmark. Thus, the BoT may very well feel like they have already reached into the piggy bank.

Is the Melo center paid off yet?

AD has racked up some debt during Gross' tenure, which the BoT may want to see paid back.

Coaching salaries have already been bumped recently (when Marrone was hired?), and given the aforementioned considerations, I doubt that another increase in salaries is forthcoming soon. Eventually, yes, but perhaps not until the other things are paid off.
