I am big Krautman fan met his family great people but at this point the kid is a shell of what he was as a Freshman. He never had great range but anything over 4o is pretty much a non starter at this point and now hes missing chip shot field goals. I really hope he can get back to the player he was because the talent is there but he appears to be shellshocked, ever since that Rutgers game last year the kid has never been the same. Again while I hope he can have a great senior year and finish this year strong we simply cant afford to go into next year with no backup plan especially if this situation doesnt get better or somehow worse.

The punting situation is a disaster, what was that a 15 yard punt yesterday despite the fact there was no rush or snap issue? Every kick seems to be a 35 yard line drive with zero hang time and forget about directional punting. Also it appears our punter is on the Pat Shadle diet plan, guy has gained 20 pounds since NW.

Really need to get these two areas shored up, Kick coverage and Kick return (outside of Kobena) have improved this year and even punt coverage since the NW game has been better.

Genny Cream Ale and PBR will do that to a Punter

Fisher had 6 punts yesterday. Take away the bad shank (which didn't hurt us), and he averaged almost 40 yards per kick.

Other than a 17 yard return on one of the punts (due to bad coverage), Cinci had 2 return yards on the other 4 punts.

Hardly a disaster.

Krautman had 2 chip shots yesterday ... he made the one where his OL held up. He easily had the distance on the 42 yarder, but pulled it left.

Krautman and Fisher aren't going anywhere.

Let's start with a new ST coach.

Fisher has been bad all year, he has shanked a punt in pretty much every game., hes averaging under 40 yards for the season and we play in a dome. Look I know your a team guy just like GO and a few others and I respect that but Krautman has been bad, the fact you have to point to a kick he almost made to back up your point is pretty telling. I dont care how much distance he had, he missed it and shanked a chip shot which is becoming a pattern. Dont be shocked if a new kicker is brought in next year and thats not coming from just me.

I question the kick blocking too. Why are we getting FG's blocked? Why on the punt team do we have to put 3 horses in front of the punter? If we used a normal blocking scheme on punts, would we be getting punts blocked too?

Norton could well be the answer for FGs. The kid obviously has a huge leg. Don't know about accuracy, but he has the distance.

I would be shocked if we gave a scholarship to another kicker for 2013, unless you're planning on bringing in a kid and RS him to be Krautman's replacement for 2014.

I have 0% confidence in the FG operation, I can't watch it anymore because I feel its 50-50 the kick even gets off. How the coaching staff hasn't cleaned that up is scary. Our punting situation has improved dramatically while Fisher may shank one every know and then the PRs aren't getting 10 yds+ or taking them back to the house. The FG operation needs a complete overhaul I like Krautman, but feel he isn't making chip shots anymore. Any kick under 30 yds has to be AUTOMATIC.

The FG kicking, I don't understand why we get those blocked, that's a real issue. You'd think given how well we pass protect, it could somewhat translate.

As for the punts, I've noticed that almost everyone does this now with the 3 guys back. Seems like there are a lot less punt blocks in college football these days. One of the few teams that doesn't do it, USF, is the one we blocked.

A punter is bound to have a few bad punts but really, punting has been fine all year. I've had no issues with it.

On blocking for a field goal, you're supposed to block inside out and yesterday the guy on the far left blocked outside and the guy to his inside went right through his gap basically untouched. Why on earth the SU kid blocked out instead of blocking down or in is a mystery.

Fisher's been fine since USC. He was trying to kick it into the bench and he hit off the outside of his foot. He had more very good kicks than that one bad one. At least two to the 10, and a couple of more inside the 20.

Right now place kicking is the only issue with specials, and KOR to a lesser extent (on the rare occasions when they bring it out).
