Very good editorial/article from Telep on the sense of entitlement of some of these elite high school recruits. http://espn.go.com/blog/dave-telep/post/_/id/3494/the-entitlement-culture-of-elite-hs-hoops

Never fear! I don't believe we will have this problem in the next few years.

I have to say, proud of JB for helping Dion get through a rough freshman year and helping him grow and achieve his goal. Some might not agree with this, but he had an amazing sophomore year, and I don't think anyone can complain about how he faired his first year in "the league".

Let's look at this year's incoming class:

BJ Already well documented enough on this site from his father about his training rigors, but also that he mentioned when he accepted an SU scholly that winning a state title was what was on his mind (paraphrasing, but if you see the vid, you'll know what I mean).

Roberson http://www.rantsports.com/ncaa-bask...mits-to-syracuse-what-makes-this-kid-so-good/
Read the part that starts "Roberson's work ethic"...
Just a subset of what I've read about him, a few other videos with his AAU coach floating around.

Ennis Always seems poised and humble, hungry in his interviews, just the sacrifice being away from home and staying in dorms most of his high school days hundreds of miles away from home. Scores when needed, but seems to be always focused on team.

Chino Another humble kid, at one time, talks about getting an accounting degree from School of Management and getting the most of his college education.

Buss Not as much to find out there, but hopefully he comes in with a chip on his shoulder and is hungry to kick some Hoosier toosh if given the opportunity.

Either, I'm excited about these guys, and no matter who leaves early, who doesn't, the 5 of them have already proven what they're all about. Winning.

These players are built up to have a huge let down and rude awakening once they step foot on the campus to play for their school. They don't realize that the coaches are not going to put up with the egos and baggage along with the sense of entitlement that the AAU and HS coaches have allowed to fester within. This is one of the reasons that I am so hard on BJ in that respect. You have to be able to take the criticisms from the coaches and move forward to improve as a player. Sometimes the egos of the players create a difficult relationship with the coach and something that the player cannot recover from. Put in the work and effort to earn your spot at the top. That simple.

I see the author's point, but sometimes I feel like an article is written every year about how much more these kids feel entitled than previous kids felt. All Star games turning into dunk contests with little or no defense are nothing new (David Stern even had to have a talk with NBA players after the Rookie Sophmore game from a few years ago). My guess is that no coaches would be dumb enough to pull scholarships based on this. And I'm willing to bet that 18 year olds asking about women in the NBA isn't either. Telep mentioned one kid complaining about the food and another refusing to go into the game due to lack of minutes, but I don't know if it is fair to lump all of them in.
