He had watched Syracuse University lacrosse games on television and knew that Onondaga had produced a number of Orange players including Jeremy Thompson, Cody Jamieson and Sid Smith. Liesemeyer hoped Onondaga could be his launching pad to a Division I program. It was also the right price compared to a post-graduate prep school.
