I've said that about 100 times. He didn't make the final 2 though, that was GRob and Donnie Gray. The other 2 that interviewed were Henderson and Tim Lewis. All were NFL types who coached defense. That was the model Gross wanted since it had success at USC. Henderson was with the Jets at the time, Gray with the Bills and Lewis the Giants. I think only TGD interviewed all 4 and then the final 2 were with TGD and TWO.

All 4 have stumbled from where they were in 2005 although Gray (Jerry, not Donnie) recovered to become the Titans DC. He is well thought of, interviewed for the Tampa Bay job and I believe he is a candidate for the Colts HC job.

In retrospect, Gross did a poor job identifying good candidates and even then did not pick the best of the bench, which at this point clearly appears to be Gray.
