Here come the Freshmen...

OL Ben Barrett is wearing #98. Isn't that an eligible number?

Awesome. Most interested in Lewis, Manley, Morgan and of course Broyld.

Does this mean we don't have to worry about any non-qualifiers this year?

I know. But does SU usually post the roster this early?

I've seen names added this early before, with numbers coming in August.

Only kid missing is Poncho (which we already suspected).

BTW - Looks like Dontez Ford is already enrolled.

Pierce-Brewster a 230 lb DE? And, while we are at it, Simmons a 226 lb DE? I don't think so.

MPB will be good. He has freak speed.
That's fine. But at this weight, they would be better off as LBs, especially if they are that fast. We been complaining since last year that the LBs are too small. Seems like the coaches have the answers right in front of their noses.

And our LBs had plenty of issues in pass protection last year. Converting kids who have played DE for years to LB would only compound the problem with 2 months tops of training.

Funder will show up on the roster when he's enrolled in school and on the team.

We have some bigger DE's and some lighter DE's. Simmons is a redshirt freshman with 4 more years of weight room ahead of him. Freeney played at what? 240?

If Mungwa and Ford stick at safety we're going to finally have some big safeties. McFarlane listed as an athlete - and could play 3 or 4 positions. I'm guessing in August he starts at RB and gets moved to safety.

Yeah, Freeney graduated at 250 and it was a progression to even get that heavy. 235 is definitely slight but there's no reason to think he could get to 240 by the fall and at least fill the void as a speed rusher on passing downs while maybe coming back next year at closer to 250 and being more of an every down player.

Agreed - that Brewster kid if he's at 235 he'll be fine - just as long as he's as fast as he's being touted. Freakish edge speed, that's why playing light worked for Freeney.

Funder won't show up on the roster until he is eligible (spring 2013) due to transfer rules
That's not true, Wes was on the Basketball roster that whole season he was redshirting. Once Funderburk enrolls/can practice he'll be on the roster
