The K-State win couldn't prove much.  It was the finale for the three key players who made the 2010 season and the game hero (Sales) was about to take an unscheduled red shirt year.  
   
West Virginia proved a one-time spike and I attribute a lot of that to real favorable match-ups against a team that took us lightly.  Then, we had a series of injuries that exposed a lack of depth, our smallish defense got pushed around.
 
Granted, UConn is struggling on offense.  Granted, those big plays from Lemon looked like one-time events. And, granted, our secondary looked vulnerable.    But the OL and DL sure looked genuine; the LBs are playing better; Smith has run hard in each of the recent games; and the team showed some depth in key spots (Broyld, Desir, Eskridge).  The kicking game was solid.  The team is more healthy at mid-season than we have seen in recent years.     It looks like a team that can compete through November.
