Not getting blown out is the objective in those games. The reason that UVA loss is such a killer is that at 4-6 those last games would be huge to keep the kids fired up about getting to a bowl. At 3-7 it will be on the staff to play the kids hungry to play for pride.

SS won the lottery when he got the SU FB job. He wasn't on the radar of any P5 teams when DM left to be a HC. He may have gotten a MAC level type HC in the future but sorry patience won't be acceptable if his record is 13-24 that would be a clear step back from DM.
