Herman's new contract details

Tom Herman and Houston finalized their contract extension negotiations. Bumped his salary to $2.8M annually, with an initial buyout of $2.25M. Apparently, he also got a new IPF negotiated and his buyout gets cut in half if they don't complete it by 2017.

Not stated in that article, but just mentioned to me by a co-worker who went to UofH (and was wearing a UofH polo today ) is that Herman gets a $5M bonus if Houston moves up to a P5 conference by the end of his new 5 year contract. Interesting...

Some of these non-P5 schools are not playing around with coaches anymore.

He is now officially the A&M or UT coach in waiting. I give Strong a 50/50 shot of making it out of next year. He needs a qb who can pass more than 5 yards to fall into his lap if he is going to survive.

I think Sumlin has more rope but another year like this one and he's on the hot seat. Also sone weird stipulation in his contract about going to the NFL expires next year I believe.

Herman plays his cards right and one of those two jobs is his.

50/50!?! i give him a 50/50 chance of making it to new years. texas can do what it wants when it wants. I give him a 10/90 of being there after next year.
