Disclaimer : I admit I'm frustrated watching us lose this game but...
Immediately after Erv Phillips caught a touchdown pass from Mahoney in the 3rd Quarter I'm in front of my TV standing and clapping when ABC cameras cut to Otto running down the sideline whooping it up to celebrate.
I was shocked to see him run past a pack of cheerleaders standing around looking bored and disinterested. About 10 cheerleaders just chatting and staring off into space like they're waiting for a freakin' bus!! We just scored a TOUCHDOWN!!! What !?!??
You're cheerleaders. You have 1 job, CHEER!!!
How is this acceptable? If you're not going to celebrate an Orange TD then go in the tunnel but don't stand around looking depressed on national TV when your school scores a touchdown.
I'm sorry this is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.
Here's a pic I snapped that is moments after the TD. ABC did a great job of getting the scoring graphic on screen almost immediately & if you watch this back you'll hear the Horn is still blowing to celebrate the score.
I don't know who is in charge of the Cheer Squad but a change may be in order.
