http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2015/02/nfl_combine_2015_syracuse_offensive_lineman_sean_h.html INDIANAPOLIS — NFL prospects at the Scouting Combine are looking for any edge they can get to keep their head from spinning and impress the teams that want to meet with them. For Syracuse offensive lineman Sean Hickey, leaning on his former college teammate Justin Pugh for advice helped him prepare for the week to come. Hickey, a fifth-year senior, won third team All-ACC honors in 2014, helping to anchor an offensive line that had its fair share of injuries. Hickey is a tackle by trade, and told reporters at the Combine on Wednesday that he's comfortable on both the left and right side. In fact, when Pugh, now the Giants' right tackle went down with an injury during his junior year, it was Hickey who stepped in at left tackle and held the fort for the Orange. Hickey went as far to say that he modeled his game by watching Pugh, especially in pass protection. One of the teams that Hickey will be looking to impress is the Giants, whom he met with on Wednesday. The Giants have drafted two Syracuse players in each of the last two drafts, in Pugh and defensive tackle Jay Bromley. Who knows? Maybe he'll be reunited with his Orangemen teammates this spring. Here's a scouting report on Hickey, courtesy of NFL.com: STRENGTHS Can get good movement when he locks in. At his best in jump sets, with a good punch and good leverage inside. Walls off defenders effectively in run game. Can drop his anchor and take a stand against power rushers when needed. WEAKNESSES Looks lost when he gets to the second level. Poor footwork on every wide defender. Plays with low, wide hands on pass pro, which leads to a lack of punch. Turns his shoulders and opens up too quickly in pass pro. Does not look for work downfield. Lacks thickness through his chest.
