High praise for Tyler Ennis

Better start getting used to it--the "secret's" out of the bag:

This is great and all. But it's beginning to look like Ennis will go NBA next year. If we win a NC who cares. But if we go elite 8, final four, or final game, losing Ennis will make us short again on the PG position. It's bad enough just recruiting. But having unexpected players leave for the NBA makes it really tough. I just finally getting around accepting Grant's practically inevitable departure!

I think hes gone. I felt that way after Maui. He's special, dont look at his measurements because they are meaningless when they come to Ennis.

Me to, doesn't make us right though. Another year to build his athleticism speed and physicallity(which is all pretty good) could be the difference from playing and sitting the bench a year. NBA is a whole different beast.

Sad but this is what I also believe. Pro scouts will covet him more and more as our season goes on.

Joseph will start MikeG will back up and Buss will spend all his extra work on being able to be a combo guard if needed. Looks like we are adding another combo guard in 15 as well.

Agreed, but it seems like each week he's gaining the experience that most players do in a month.

not so much really. i frankly don't wish to become another kentucky one and done school.

Agreed but this has a much different feel to it than anything Kentucky has done. Ennis isn't a product of the hype machine. He's just played his game (team game) to stardom. He was what? A top 30 recruit? I'm not even sure the staff knew they'd be getting this amount of production from him year one. I'm 29 years old and he's the best I've seen in Orange outside of Carmelo. He is an absolute joy to watch.

I'd echo the point made by someone else, that it all depends on how this year plays out. Consider that they both look pretty good while we're winning, and playing against other college kids. But neither one has the outright physical prowess to step right into an NBA role of any significance. Grant lacks some consistency (and maybe some confidence), and the 24 second clock will mandate a substantial adjustment in Ennis' game. And those are just observations, not criticisms. Maybe I'm "thinking with my heart," here, but on the theory that it's better to be an optimist and occasionally wrong than a pessimist and always right, I'm going against the conventional thought here and suggest I can see both of them back next year.

Ennis and his father voraciously watched Syracuse games during his final high school season. They assessed where he might get shots in the offense, where the returning players might be on a given set and how the rotations in the indefatigable matchup zone worked...

When Ennis arrived on campus, he would call his father to say he watched the Syracuse “bigs” work out and deduced where forward C.J. Fair liked the ball. When teammates hit the gym to shoot, Ennis sometimes rebounded for them, kicking the ball back out to get a feel for how they preferred it to be delivered.

Love this.

Tyler Ennis is ACC Rookie of the Week. It's the third time he's earned the honor this season.

No big deal.

I really want to believe this! My question is, have we actually seen TE at his best, he is amazing but what if this just the tip of the iceberg .
