Hmm America's Best Team

"Entering the weekend, the Orange had allowed just 25.0 PPG per game in the paint according to ESPN Stats & Info, third-fewest among power conference schools. It also possessed the ACC’s top offensive rebounding rate (41 percent) and its best defensive turnover percentage (it had forced turnovers on one-quarter of its opponents’ possessions in its first 17 games)."

Very nice very nice.

You can certainly argue that Syracuse has won the more impressive schedule up to this point. Arizona is only ranked #1 because they started the season ahead of us. None of it makes any sense and at the very least I consider Syracuse 1a and Zona 1b. At the very least.

I still think we are an outright #1 though. All that matters is that we the 1 seed in the East.

With ennis we have possibly the most impactful player not just freshman in the country. He learns from every experience. Earlier in the year he flirted with foul trouble at times and since no problem. The pace he plays at helps prevent fatigue. The two positions that exert the most effort are shooting guard and center and those are the spots we sub for the most. Barring injury we have a legitimate claim as tops in the nation. Just gotta stay focused and keep at it. Along with keeping roberson going in games that allow it

That's exactly why I am so excited about how Rak has been playing lately. He has really been playing some better defense, and looked a lot more fine tuned on offense. We just gotta reward the guy more after he makes good plays. And with Gbinije coming in for Cooney, I hope it keeps Cooney's legs fresh. Currently G is averaging 50% from 3 and has a 3:1 assist:turnover ratio. If we can get him into the rotation a little more, maybe give him 2 of Fair's and Grant's minutes, we can play smaller and a little faster and help stretch the Defense so that Cooney and G can get more open looks. And hopefully we can penetrate a little more, seems the guards didn't do that at all against Pitt, except for Ennis getting those late layups. Our forwards seemed to have done most of the driving and slashing. We need to get some more looks for Rak. Even if he gets fouled, get that boy to the FT line, he's been one of the best FT shooters on the team it seems. That, and he's almost shooting 3 out of 4 from the field.
