Hmmmm artificial noise

I really think this happens more than it seems. I've suspected in the dome before, and I am absolutely positive that the arena had a mic next to the student section for our basketball game at villanova two years ago. there were noise levels during that game that were just not possible based on the crowd activity.

interesting question as I think bands can't play during the plays....

They mic the band sections all the time, however, I do think they've gone a bit far in some cases. Last year at Met Life I know I heard the PSU chants over the speakers coming from behind me, but the PSU sections (and band) were across the field from us.

NC State was pumping artificial crowd noise at the game last year. I couldn't believe it. Total Weaksauce.

I ran the sound boards in the dome one year. We didnt do that. In fact, funny story. I would control the volume of the pregame music. Id turn it loud for the players to get amped up but then someone would complain in the crowd so i would have to turn it down. Then some assistant would come up and say "hey buddy, can you turn the music up. The players want it louder." So i would. And then id go in a circle.

The speakers in the dome face the crowd as compared to blasting down on the field.

Speed kills. And it never let up. Michigan State got augmented in the face big time after early in the third quarter.

At some point, I feel like I'm going to hear about Oregon augmenting footspeed. And it wouldn't surprise me. They all look like they're shot out of a cannon once they get the ball in their hands.

I would be annoyed if it wasn't for the fact that essentially everyone does it. I'd be surprised if anything ever comes of it unless some high profile coach/player complains of it.

I had money on Oregon (-11) so I fully support these shenanigans.

Everyone was telling us they were the Rutgers of the ACC - I think they're living up to their reputation lol.
