Holding our breath

Maybe I’m wrong (Sutomcat, please correct me, if so) but there seems to be less activity on this board over the past week. My working theory is that we are holding our collective breath over whether this team could turn the corner tomorrow or tell us that we are in for a long, forgettable season. Yes, this game is that important. Playing a winless conference team at home, you absolutely have to take care of business. Forget what the oddsmakers say. This is a game we should win. The fans know it. The coaches know it. The players know it.
We don’t have the team we thought we would. We don’t have Howard, Bleich, Adams, Dakota (yet) ... and now,,probably not Cisco. But from what I can tell, the players,we do have are bought in. I’m not sure how it will it go tomorrow, but my gut tells me HCDB will have the team ready to play and that Tommy will play well, that the defense will show up again and that warriors including Elmore, Johnson, Hackett and Servais will play their hearts out.
Let’s get this one!

I don’t think there’s any question that not being able to go to games is a factor for many people. Diehards will still follow just as closely, but local casuals won’t.

About 10 years ago I explained to my wife what a bye week meant man I was stupid, last Saturday from 8 am. till 10 pm. I was at her mercy with list of chores for the inside and outside of the house and yard that kicked my ( azz ) she promised me tomorrow that she will leave the house from noon till 5pm. so I could watch the game drink some beers chat on the board and drop some ( ) bombs I will be in my glory ,now lets get the (W ) and get to 2-2 LETS GO ORANGE !!!!

I'm back to checking the board occasionally but every time I see a thread I would usually post in it turns political before I get there. At that point conversation is over and party line talking points begin and are repeated... Some of us don't speak sheeple.

To point on the game, not sure anyone knows what to expect of Duke. They've played 4 tough opponents reasonably close and we've beat the 1 of 3 that aren't tough. Va Tech was missing 21 players last week and we're only missing a handful. I'm hopeful but not expecting anything. Hope the boys lay a marker today and pump my optimism sky high once more. Let's see what we learned over the bye week. There are some absolutely rubbish teams in the ACC this year and I hope we prove at least a level above.

My son is at an SEC school and plays basketball with some football players. The starting QB told him that he studies for classes an hour or two a week and that he gets the answers to tests in a text message before the test. From the professor!

As we all know, we aren’t playing by the same rules as the big boys!
