Hop & GMac

The relationship that these two share is incredible. You want to be able to go into a kid's home, sit down with him and his parents/family and be able to look them in the eye confidently saying he will be watched after at Syracuse. Hopkins is one of the best recruiters in the nation for a reason. He is compassionate, truthful, loyal and an all-around good guy. We are extremely lucky to have him on the SU bench for many, many years to come. I have a feeling that GMac will turn into that top-dog recruiter and be around for quite some time as well.

Very lucky to have Hop. Schools would pay a lot of money to be in the position that Syracuse is in right now, and more importantly, that they will continue to be in for the many, many years to come. We can thank JB for creating an incredible infrastructure, and feel fortunate that Hop will take over whenever that time comes. GMac will be right by his side.

I really think JB would have made a great CEO in the corporate world. (He is a CEO of SU Bball.) Have a vision. Build the platform. Hire great people to do what needs to be done, and get out of their way. Expect people to do what they are supposed to do. Find and groom your replacement.
His loyalty (Bernie was on the road way too long) might be his major shortcoming.
