Either way Bernie,JB & the Universities reputations are permanently damaged.

Once unleashed you can not put the Genie back in the bottle. There is no way to repair this...

The cloud will always be there now. These 2 "men" Just tarnished the best thing central New York has going for it. and it really ticks me off...

I don't think so. If the allegations prove to be untrue, Bernie will be viewed in a very sympathetic light.

Fine? Absolutely. Guilty or innocent. JB? Only if Bernie is found guilty. SU? Nah. They've been out in front of this since the beginning. Everyone will compare to PSU and say "That's the way to handle a crisis."

As long as the University did their job in 05 then the school should be ok... JB stands to lose a lot if Bernie is found to have done these horrible things... JB is standing behind his friend. Hope Bernie hasnt fooled us all.

I'm not overreacting when I say that I've never seen a more overreacted response regarding our current situation.

Overreaction. Look at Baylor. People remember their scandal but that was about 10,000 times the magnitude of this, and among the biggest sports scandals of all time. Ask anyone, even a big sports fan what happened there and they'll give you some sketchy details and not much else.

People also overestimate how 99% of stories resonate after news cycles end. Last year everyone was saying that BP would be boycotted forever due to the gulf spill, which was a massive story affecting the environment, local industry, wildlife, an entire region, etc. Took them 3 months from when it was capped to turn a 2 billion dollar profit.

If things remain static and there's no other accusers or whatever, this will have very little impact on the university. Bernie's personal life is a different story and that really sucks for him. Hopefully this story turns into a Duke Lax thing, another data point for getting all the facts before news outlets take it to the court of public opinion.

I think this only gets real bad for SU if more victims come forward. It has gotten some press since it just started but will die down in a few weeks and if nothing comes of it then it will disappear. PSU's scandal is way deeper includes cover ups from assistant coaches all they way to possibly district attorneys so this will get way more press then us nationally.

2nd worst case senario he is found guilty of abusing just those 2 ball boys. I feel it may take atleast 1 year prolly 2 years so by then it will be a one day sportcenter topic with some bottom line action as long as the university keeps there distance from him and dont let him on campus grounds if/when the hammer falls it wont drag them down also.

Best case senario he is found innocent collects his pension and retires. I dont see him coaching at SU again no matter the outcome to much of a liability. He may be able to work for the univeristy at some capacity but will be behind the scenes.

The first time this llegfations were raised, ESPN and the PS acted appropriately. They kept the genie in the bottle. This time was different. Why? Was it really because now step-brother Lang had the guts to say or just remembered they were molested? Or was it PSU? Roll back the clock where there wasn't PSU molestation and the Duke players were exonerated from rape charges. Now Davis and Lang come forward. Would ESPN go forward with their story or would they wait and see?
If Bernie is exonerated and ESPN gets egg on their face and a real molestation takes place will the victims be looked at the same way as the Davis/Lang chaps? Will this deter ESPN from reporting and/or the victims from coming forth? Not only will Bernie be hurt by this but future real victims will suffer if these allegations are proven to have no merit.
(Craig Forth on Albany TV last night and adamant that no way Bernie could/would have done these things. He said Bernie was his second father when at SU.) Maybe anytime a coach is with a child, there must be a second adult there also. And tell them not to hit players on back or backside after a good game/play.

Duke lacrosse seems to have survived.

I think that it all depends upon the final outcome. Either Bernie will go down, maybe JB with him, and the program will be tarnished for awhile or everything will be disproven, and the wrath will fall on ESPN.

I think when all is said and done that if Bernie is innocent and no news comes to light in the next few days ESPN won't report on the story much in hopes that it is forgotten about by the masses. I haven't watched ESPN today so I'm not sure if they are riding this as hard as they were yesterday.

If Fine is cleared of all charges he needs to keep coaching and show that people falsely accused of charges like this can continue on and have a normal, successful life.

If all is cleared I would like to see him go after accuser's and ESPN but I don't think either will happen.

I want SU to get paaaaaaaid by ESPN. Need new football facilities, the dome needs updates, etc. Would be nice to see ESPN paying for all of this.
