Every horse has a Z level which determines how pure the genetics are an how much better a horse can be. So a Z1 will typically run faster then a Z10 but it also is based on parentage as well. In addition each horse has preferred distance so if your horse loves 2000M and you run it in a 1000 your horse will have a harder time winning. In the future they are adding gate preferences weather such as rain and other conditions as well as other stuff to affect your horse.
