A friend of the family in Randolph New Jersey is a 6 ft- 5 inch 305 lb offensive lineman. He is strong as an ox and quick on his feet. He has offers from Boston College, Rutgers, UConn and others. He hasn't had any interest from Syracuse. He is in Northern NJ , right in Syracuse's backyard. If the coaches decide they don't want to pursue, that is one thing. I want to make sure that they haven' t overlooked him.

fbadmin or gadkins

Brendan Mahon? Dorian Miller?

CALL THE FOOTBALL OFFICE ASAP. I have never (limited experience) been denied a chance to talk to a coach. Hell, someone up there gave me Hopkin's cell phone one time.

I sent an email to Adkins. Is there any email address for coach Marone

If you sent it to Adkins that should be fine. Did you make it clear in the subject line who you were mailing about?

I made it clear in the email. I already got an email back from Coach Adkins. He is on the case. I will follow-up with the parents of the recruit.
does this mean that the young man would be open to Syracuse?

seems odd that the kid was well known enough to already have offers from all these other schools and SU hadn't even made contact to start to gauge interest. Is SU's lack of success recently in New Jersey due to a lack of effort in that area as coaches basically concede it to other schools and focus elsewhere?

Good job Rob. I think our coaching staff needs all the help it can get in New Jersey.

I may be alone on this thought, but i find it very interesting that coaches 1) respond to basic nobody's about recruiting and 2) actually take the time to follow-up on the email recruit recommendations.

I would think they get a lot of crackpots emailing them and get more bad intel than good.

Is there interest in Syracuse, or are you just attempting to build a dialogue between the two?

I doubt that we get that much spam. Alabama probably gets it.

Guys. I spent last nigh watching the super bowl with his parents at my home. I believe the player and parents will have a strong interest. They were suprised they did n't hear from Syracuse. I was quite surprised. Especially with Marrone and Adkins invovled with lineman. Let's put it this way. I think Syracuse would have an equal chance to show their stuff. They just need to move forward and become a player and compete with all schools.

Also , I am an unknown to Syracuse football coaches. However, I am an alumni, the recruit I mentioned in my email is not very hard to follow-up. . He is listed on Rivals and has been to some combines and has films. He also has offers from University of Florida, Rutgers, UConn, BC and interest from many others. Perhaps Syracuse is not interested. I don't know. I just wanted to make sure that they didn't overlook this young man.

Florida? Ummm...I'd say unless he has a felony or terrible grades they are interested.

Rob...thanks for taking the time and making the effort. Never know.

I feel like we should bookmark this thread and if that kid ends up at Syacuse, and is pretty solid, go ahead and give RobNJ the first ever JohnSyracuse man of the year award. :)

Whatever happened with that kid that was posting here last year from Michigan to try to get recruited? He was a RB or something...

we cant assume that no offer means no interest. it could also be a school they are having issues getting into to talk with kids.

As I said, my experience is that they are very open to in put

I would imagine they haven't had any contact with the coaches at Randolph. It's a fairly large school but not one that sends many kids to D1A programs, traditionally.
