How do we compare injury wise with other teams.

Questionable accuracy (they missed a couple of our DLs, maybe more???) but basically supports that we have more season ending injuries than pretty much anyone else - no surprise here. Maybe next season we will get lucky.

5 less than A&M, 4 less than Miami, etc. Etc... On the higher end, but plenty with 7,8,9 with also questionable accuracy.

Missing three OL and a TE
Mikel
Duce
Jahad

I imagine that they go by what the school gives them.

And our school doesn't give much info.

It's gambling website.

They know the starters who are out for the year.

They don't care about 2nd or 3rd teamers.

I know, because we've announced them.

Seems odd they'd be posting questionable people (as they do for other teams) based on their own research.

All of ours listed were announced by the school. Hopefully no more show up on that site after Dino's presser today, especially #3.

Many injuries listed are day to day. I wish some of our injured starters were day to day. I still contend when it comes to starters lost for the season someone would be hard pressed to find a school hit harder than us.

The best comparison would be to programs that are similar as us in terms of recruiting ranking and schedule strength. In the ACC I imagine that'd be BC, Pitt, Wake, Duke.

I suspect a problem we have is that we don't recruit well in terms of depth, so (1) we get a disproportionate amount of injuries due to starters playing big minutes and getting beat up over the course of a season, and (2) that lack of depth means we're ill-prepared to replace injured players with game-ready guys.

Ville Depth Chart Defense:
DL: Greer, Lockett, Caleb O
LB: Jones, Wax, Thompson
DBs: GW, Duce, Carter, Barron, Clark

WF Depth Chart Defense:
DL: Linton/Greer, Darton (banged up during game/before game), Caleb O
LB: Jones (injured during game), Wax, McDonald/Sparrow
DBs: Johnson, Duce, Carter, Barron, Clark

That's just defense. Losing GW, Thompson and Lockett is pretty crazy. Then to have Mikel Jones go down.

This is tabling the OL craziness and the fact that Shrader and Tucker have been playing banged up for a large chunk of the season.

No excuses, but this ain't great.

Early two deep backups are out injured as well such as DE Simmons and LB Roon haven't played in over a month. To my eyes we only played 3 linebackers against Wake - Wax, McDonald and Sparrow - after Jones left. **edit - I think Lowery played so we're down to 4.

Jones looked like an ankle and I expect him back for Saturday.

White does a good job playing a lot of guys on defense, not sure if your suspicions are true on that side of the ball.

He does? I don't track this too closely, but don't our LBs pretty much never leave the field? I thought that was the take on our DL as well.

No, that was how Ward played it. Ward was super weird about leaving the starting LBs in all the time.

White has always rotated a lot of guys on the DL and at LB. If anything, he doesn't mix up the secondary as much.

Tennessee's starting QB Hooker tore his ACL this weekend in a non-contact injury on grass.

Between that and getting wrecked by SC their season took a bad turn real quick. From CFP with a great QB to ????.

I was only considering season ending/major injuries.
