Great article. It's very well-documented that I am a very loyal Marrone guy. I guess that is because I actually got to be around him outside of football 5-6 times. He is a down-to-earth, ball-busting guy at the end of the day. Do I share Christmas cards with him? No, I'm not pretending I'm best friends with the guy, but I can speak to his ways when he is around friends and others he trusts. He clearly puts on a different impression in front of the cameras, but no one is perfect. Some people are not cut out to be the sales-y, exaggerated, bullshitting type of people when others want them to be. That whole dream job statement somehow has caused deep damage to many of you, which I find hilariously comical. I mean, seriously, grow the . The man took a massive job promotion to be a HC in the NFL. There are 32 of those jobs in the land and he got one of them. The Bills weren't the only ones courting him, either. You would all do the same thing for your families, too. His family will never have to worry financially about anything again. That would be a pretty good feeling as a father. The reasons he left Buffalo seem quite obvious to me, but no one truly knows the story except for Doug. And at the end of the day, he DOESN'T have to answer to anyone. Did he play his cards the wrong way? Who knows. Sorry to the Bills fans. We, myself included, saw him leave far too early in our own selfish way, but he made a decision for himself and his family at the end of the day. I was pissed when he left, but knew it was coming as his name had been thrown around NFL circles for awhile and he had Jimmy Sexton repping him. Do I still wish he was here? Yep, but I'm also glad he brought Shaf here. Shaf will be our HC for a long time IMO and we can thank Doug for bringing him to us. I wish Doug, his kind wife Helen, and their family the best and I hope (and expect) to see him as an NFL HC in the future. He has paid his dues over the years and is a high football IQ guy.
