This staff is all about competition.   I am sure all the players have realized that now and accepted it as being better for the program as well as themselves.  All bringing Allen in has done is brought in more competition.  I am with you that there is no way Allen was promised anything, or has the staff quietly penciled him as starter. Also, breaking out the pistol this year couldn't have come at a better time.  It will allow us to play 2 RB's at once, which allows us to get our best play makers on the field.  I actually see an increase in PT of AAM since you would assume he would be the lead back in the formation.  Could they possibly think about using Jerome in this spot?  Most of his damage was down between the tackles last year on that 1 zone read play they ran almost exclusively.  That would allow Jerome to be on the field with either PTG or GM3?
